IDS Group - integration of logistics and production environment through WMS

Eastern Europe

Requirements for food safety and traceability of raw materials and materials have become the main impetus for the implementation of the automation project for the warehouse of packaging materials for the Morshinsky mineral water plant “Oscar” and the Mirgorod Mineral Water Plant (MZMV).

WAREHOUSE AUTOMATION QGUAR WMS

The head of the warehouse logistics department, Sergey Murenko, who worked on the automation project from the IDS Group, said:

The integration of the interactions of almost all departments of the company, during the process of implementing the system, has become the most significant moment of the project. If at the first stage, during the automation of the warehouse of finished products, we were closed within the warehouse logistics division, then the implementation of the second stage involved almost all divisions of the company: production - requests for the supply of materials, quality service - input control of raw materials, quarantine measures. The most important thing was that after the automation of the second warehouse, the management process was no longer purely logistical, but covered all stages of production. In practice, we have received a synergy effect - when the total actions of all departments significantly exceed the effect of the sum of the work of each individual.

WMS system - effects of implementation

In addition to the classic effects of the introduction of an automation system in a warehouse and issues with security and traceability, purely economic issues were also resolved, for example: the introduction of a warehouse management system made it possible to optimize personnel (forklift drivers and storekeepers) by 25%. Automation of the warehouse for packaging materials made it possible to work in a single information field, now there is no need to separate personnel into two facilities, the key principle of logistics is observed - the task is realized by the resource who is closer to the point of the task and the level of qualification and equipment of which is sufficient to achieve the set goal.

Logistics automation system - development prospects

In the near future, we plan to close another area of โ€‹โ€‹logistics - territory management using the Qguar YMS system. The system will very logically and harmoniously complement the existing Qguar WMS Pro warehouse automation system. YMS integrates a new partner, the enterprise security service, into the existing logistics IT environment. By installing scales that will interact with the YMS system, we will be able to automatically keep additional records of products that are moved from and to warehouses. As a manager, I can clearly see that the combination of WMS and YMS, as a comprehensive solution, closes a large number of logistical risks and problems of the safety of inventory and material assets, and also provides significant savings both in terms of remuneration and current operating costs.

Despite the fact that the warehouses at the Morshinsky plant and MZMV differ in size and topology, they have absolutely identical logistics processes, this allowed us to implement the Qguar WMS system at one facility and clone it to another.
