Cool warehouse. Pick-by-line and WMS system at the distribution center of the leader of retail trade in Kharkov of the KLASS supermarket chain

Since November 2018, the distribution center of the leading retailer in Kharkiv has been running a warehouse automation system Qguar WMS Pro. This is the first localization of the 6th version of the system in Ukraine.

Warehouse automation, system selection criteria

• The presence of dynamic replenishment of the selection zone, the presence of PBL and the classical selection system;
• Positive experience of implementation in retail in Ukraine and abroad;
• Short terms of implementation (it was required to put into commercial operation in 2 months).

The distribution center of the KLASS chain of stores is:

• Specialized warehouse that fully complies with all applicable regulations. The DC, in addition to storage areas, has a mezzanine, a Pick-by-line area, a zone for preparing and storing collected orders.
• The object is equipped with 4 - 5 - 6 tiered front racks with more than 4000 items. , there are also places for floor storage, piece storage racks (mezzanine) - more than 10,000 places.
• Number of active positions: more than 25,000 SKUs.
• There are 12 docks for loading/unloading goods.
• Working schedule 24/6 in 2 shifts.
• Number of personnel per shift: day shift - 90 people. , night shift - 15 people
• Personnel working on TSD MC 32N0
• Applied equipment: loaders - 1 pc. , reach trucks - 2 pcs. , electric trolleys - 12 pcs.
• Enterprise management system (ERP): proprietary software.

Key tasks of automating the DC of a supermarket chain CLASS:

• Ship goods as soon as possible ;
• Increase staff productivity with TSD ;
• Control and minimization of employee errors when collecting (picking) goods.

Warehouse automation - functional features of automation:

Acceptance, placement and shipment of goods is carried out by commodity groups using ABC analysis. Goods of group "A" are assembled in racks, goods of group "B" are shipped using the Pick-by-line method, goods of group "C" are assembled on the mezzanine.
Since there can be several orders for shipment for one recipient, the possibility of partial shipment by orders is used. Orders for shipment are collected constantly, pallets assembled for shipment can be shipped dynamically, without waiting for the complete collection of all positions of the recipient's orders. Documents are generated for shipped pallets, and shipped items are displayed from the order. Supermarket chain CLASS is one of the leading retail companies in Kharkiv. Our first store was opened in 2001 at 259 Moskovsky Prospekt. Geographically, each of our supermarkets is a “neighborhood store”, but, in fact, they are shopping centers where customers purposefully go for family shopping.
