Images are applied using a thermal transfer method that eliminates the need for refilling or replacing cartridges. As a consumable material in such printers, special ribbons are used that have ink layers (resin, wax, resin with wax). The thermal head in a thermal transfer printer heats the ribbon, after which the image is transferred from it to the label surface.
